About Coffee Tables
Twenty-seven coffee tables in walnut, solid wood, sintered stone and metal, from a 23⅝-inch folding bamboo table to the 55⅛-inch Hadley with drawers on both long sides.
Sizing a coffee table to your sofa
Aim for a table about two-thirds the length of the sofa, so both ends of the seat can reach it. Most tables here are 47¼ inches wide, the two-thirds mark for a sofa of about 71 inches; the Hadley Coffee Table at 55⅛ inches suits one nearer 83. Leave 16 to 18 inches between the table and the sofa front, and keep the top within an inch or two of the seat. Heights run from 11 inches on the moulded-plywood Avondale Coffee Table to 17¾ inches on the Sutton Coffee Table, so measure your seat before choosing.
Shape follows the seating. An L-shaped sectional is easier to serve from one of our square coffee tables, such as the 35⅜-inch Hanley Walnut Coffee Table, while round and oval coffee tables take the corners out of a narrow walkway. For a loveseat or a studio, start with small coffee tables.
Materials wear differently. Walnut coffee tables and other wood coffee tables want coasters and a dry cloth; sintered stone tops such as the Holbrook and Talbot wipe clean with a damp one. To narrow by look, see Japandi coffee tables, organic modern coffee tables or modern coffee tables.
